Good Poetry embodies the best parts of writing. It is concise, lyrical, and informative. Poetry has another advantage as well; it is the best shortcut I have found to writing prose. Using poetry as a starting point has allowed me to create prose that emodies the beauty of poetry with an added layer of depth. This four week course will meet once a week on Zoom and will introduce you to a range of poems from the well known to the obscure. We will use these poem, along with structured prompts and discussion, to create prose. Adding poetry into your toolkit will elevate your writing, both personal and professional, and give in a unique dimension.
